A printer is a device that can transfer images and texts from a computer to paper. They are found in offices, schools, internet cafes and other places where printing is a necessity.

Speed: It is important for a user to choose a printer with a fast printing speed. Inexpensive printers may print only about 3 to 6 sheets of paper per minute, but faster speeds are an option with more sophisticated, expensive printers.
Memory: Most printers come with 2 to 16 megabytes of memory that can be expanded by the user. A user should not be afraid of using more than the minimum amount of memory as it will help them to print out large images faster.
Drivers:
There are many different types of drivers that work with a printer. Some drivers are install-able on the user’s computer and others are present in the printer firmware and made available through a networking protocol (e.g. IPP).
The most common type of printer interface is the parallel Centronics interface with a 36-pin plug; other types include serial interfaces such as USB or FireWire; some printers are integrated with scanners and fax machines.
